Educational Support Overview

Our daytime work is with a number of difference agencies and education providers, who work with young people aged 9 upwards. This work includes a range of activities from sports, art and crafts to media workshops. All of our volunteers are a big part of supporting each tailored project.

Creative and Effective Support with The Rock

The Rock is a youth work charity providing daytime projects for schools and evening youth activities open to local young people. In our projects with schools we provide engaging positive activities and time for support for young people from experienced youth workers. Our venue offers fantastic space for young people; it includes a sports hall, double kitchen and an inspiring church space. Our team includies a qualified teacher and youth workers with a wealth of experience at effectively supporting young people to engage with education.

The Right Approach For Each Young Person

The Rock offers a wide range of projects for schools. Although many of our projects take place away from school, our aim is for young people to flourish in school. We always see the potential in young people, but we know that sometimes specific support is needed to help them to achieve that potential. Each separate project has its own dedicated space and team, with an approach tailored to the specific young people.

Examples Of Activities We Use

We use positive activities such as team building & sports, digital photography and cooking to help young people to work well with others, to solve problems and to become better at learning new skills. The activities for each project vary; wherever possible we try to involve young people in selecting activities.
