Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are a big part of making The Rock a success, without people giving tirelessly their time and energy to the things we do The Rock would not be able to run. If you would like to consider joining The Rock team please see below the groups and opportunities available;

Day Times

Our daytime work (Monday – Friday) is with a number of difference agencies and education providers, who work with young people aged 9 upwards. This work includes a range of activities from sports, art and crafts to media workshops. All of our volunteers are a big part of supporting each tailored project. A typical day is split into two sessions, starting from 09:00 and running to 14:30.

Monday Evening

Space 51 is for young people in school years 8 - 13, who are making tough decisions with their G.C.S.E choices and future plans. The evening is shaped and created by the young people. Activities could include music, cookery, drama, dancing, film nights, console games, sports and much more.

Doors open at 7.00-8.30pm

Tuesday Evening

Tuesday Night Transition (TNT) is for young people (school years 5-7) preparing to leave Primary School and settle into Secoundary School life. These evenings have been a great success with the young people voting on which activities take place e.g. girls and guys nights when the group separates into the two buildings and enjoy time out in a same gender group.

Door open at 6.00-7.30pm

Wednesday Evening

On a Wednesday evening, we have our Archery club for school years 6-11, offering the opportunity to learn new skills with our qualified Archery coaches. Sessions run from 6pm-7:30pm.

Thursday Evening

FRESH is a new youth club that is a safe, fun and supportive space for local young people who may not connect with other youth activities.

It is a great mix of sports and creative activities with young people having their say on the activities.FRESH is a part of the detached youth project and funded by Cheltenham Borough Council, No Child Left Behind, Gloucestershire NHS and the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner.

Open: 6.00pm – 7.30pm

Activate Holiday Project
